One of the most popular photo-op locations in Jefferson county – The Color Tunnel! Take a stroll through this rainbow underpass and experience all the joy the tunnel brings to the city – and don’t forget to snap a quick selfie!
5. Magnolia Links Disc Golf Course
Located within Celebration Park is a local favorite, the disc golf course. It is a beginner-friendly course that offers a few challenges. A great course to play with the family or bring a friend who’s never played disc golf before!

7. McWane Science Center
McWane Science Center is located in the heart of downtown Birmingham, right across from the Pizitz Food Hall. It’s a great museum for kids and adults of any age and a great place to allow your child’s learning experiences to grow.
8. Rickwood Caverns State Park
Rickwood Caverns State Park is located about 20 minutes from Gardendale. The park is home to caverns that feature 260-million-year-old formations. The cave maintains a steady temperature of 60º year round which is perfect for hot summer days! Consider packing a lunch and making a day out of it.
