At Gardendale Fire, Medical, and Rescue, our dedicated and experienced staff is committed to providing the highest level of protection, services, and quality of life to Gardendale's citizens and visitors.

As a full-time career department, Gardendale Fire and Rescue employs 27 full-time fire/medics, along with Fire Chief Joe Thomas and Fire Marshal Adam Crain. We cover approximately 50 square miles and respond to over 200 alarms monthly, with 70% being medical-related. Our team is extensively trained and certified in various specialized services, including paramedic care, high-angle/rope rescue, confined space and trench rescue, fire prevention, hazardous materials management, and more.
